Works and Wonders

A week from today, July 8, 2019 will be my three year anniversary home from my mission to Reynosa, Mexico. Around this time of year my mind reflects more deeply upon the memories and lessons I learned as a missionary. I used this blog for a very short period when I returned home but had to put it on hold while I focused on a bigger project on hand-- a book. What started out as a fun Sunday pastime turned into a hobby that's over 400 pages long. It's original intent was to preserve my thoughts and feelings of my experiences; then I wrote it with greater informative depth in cases that the reader knew nothing about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have since been able to share it with only a few people through Google Drive hyperlinks. Overall, it's been a project of great value to me but forgotten by most others.

Presently I am considering continuing this blog by sharing some of the passages from my book "Works and Wonders" three times per week; almost every Sunday, Monday, and Thursday.

My hope is to share, not just my experiences, but to share my testimony and hopefully help someone feel the same spirit I feel when I reflect on the Lord's goodness in our own lives. Even now, there can be something in our past experiences that can be learned from and applied to the needs of today and tomorrow; I think the scriptures prove that. I hope you find something of use to you in this blog.

Furthermore, any question or comments are welcome!

If there are questions about what something means or if there is unfamiliar terminology, let me know and I will begin defining things a bit better. If there is enough interest, I might even consider translating my posts into Spanish.

This photo was taken in Rio Bravo, Mexico while I was on exchanges with one of my Zone Leaders, Elder Niedert. In order to reach one of the developing neighborhoods we had to take this shortcut bridge made of pipe and plywood across a river that reeked of old garbage and sewage. A young man from the area, E. Sanchez, accompanied us for the day and took this picture. I was about 4 months into my mission.
